US 6 and PA 44 join for 4 miles between Sweden Valley and Coudersport in Potter County.
PA 44 joins three other routes to form Potter County's only three multiplexes. US 6/PA 44 here is the one in the middle. PA 44/PA 144 is to the south, and unmapped PA 44/PA 49 touches to the north. These shields are posted near the eastern split in Sweden Valley.
Here is the eastern split as viewed from US 6 westbound; the shields of the previous photo are just around the bend. PA 44 southbound makes a long journey to Jersey Shore from here. The mileage sign shows Jersey Shore likely because it is the next significant town to the south, as PA 44 traverses remote forest land for most of those 69 miles.
Avoiding the duplex, a left turn puts traffic onto PA 44.
Here is another view of the split, along PA 44 northbound as it joins US 6. Two state park signs point to PA 44.
Halfway between the ends of the duplex, PA 872 leaves the Sinnemahoning Creek basin and ends at US 6/PA 44 at this stop sign.
Two more miles to the west, US 6 and PA 44 split in opposite direction onto Main Street, Coudersport. Port Allegheny is the site of US 6's next multiplex (US 6/PA 155), but PA 44 meets PA 49 in less than 17 miles.
PA 44 meets PA 49 at this same intersection in Coudersport. Though not well signed in the previous view of the US 6/PA 44 split, the PA 44/PA 49 shields can be seen just beyond this intersection in this view along US 6 eastbound. PA 49 begins here, where US 6/PA 44 join.
Here is another view of the western split as seen from PA 44 southbound/PA 49 westbound. PA 49 ends here, PA 44 joins US 6 to the left, and US 6 continues straight ahead.
