United States Routes 40 and 119 join for 3 miles bypassing Uniontown in Fayette County.
Northbound on US 119/PA 43 drawing near Uniontown and US 40. PA 43 ends here for now, until the Brownsville-Uniontown segment of the future tollway is completed later this decade.
The same interchange (the southern split) as seen from US 40 west. US 119 exits onto its old routing to meet PA 43 at an interchange less than a mile to the south.
Reassurance shields along the US 40/US 119 duplex.
Three miles to the north, US 40 splits from the US 119 bypass of Uniontown. The old US 40 is now Business US 40 and goes straight through Uniontown.
The west end of Business US 40 at the diamond interchange where US 40 and US 119 join/split.
The same interchange (northern split) as seen on US 119 south. US 40 joins the freeway at this exit.
There are two exits between the northern and southern splits of the duplex. First is the McClellandtown exit for PA 21.
Signs along the access road approaching US 40/US 119 from the PA 21 exit.
Reassurance shields southbound on the bypass.
The second exit between the splits is at a partial interchange with Walnut Hill Road, which serves southern Uniontown and the village of Continental No. 2 (an odd name!).
The following exit is where US 119 splits to the south and PA 43 begins. This exit leads to the Mon-Fayette Expressway and to Morgantown, WV.
