PA 53 and PA 453 form a wrong-way duplex for one block in Madera in Clearfield County.
The duplexed routes cross Clearfield Creek. The eastern split is just behind the camera. The western split is straight ahead, just out of sight.
A few steps ahead, the direction and destination choices are presented.
Here is the western split. PA 53 heads west and then south to meet PA 729 in Glen Hope.
Here is another shot of the signs of the previous photo. PA 453 enters from behind and turns left.
PA 453 southbound traffic approaches these shields at the western split.
The western split is full of signs. Here are more from PA 53 northbound.
These PA 453 shields are the ones posted immediately at the western split. The Clearfield Creek bridge is just ahead. The shields for the eastern split can barely be seen with a green mileage sign on top.
PA 453 sees the same sign assembly at each split, with directions reversed. Compare this photo at the eastern split with that at the western split (above).
