These southbound shields stand at the corner at 8th Street in downtown Watsontown. Nearly all route markers for this duplex have PA 405 above or to the left of PA 44, when usually the lower number appears first in a PA state routes duplex.

Here is the northern split just outside Dewart. PA 405 continues straight ahead from the flashing yellow light signal. Both routes cross the West Branch Susquehanna River, which parallels the duplex to the west.

Here are the signs along PA 44 southbound on the approach to PA 405 at the flashing red light ahead. The shields are posted quite high off the ground. The duplex begins to the right. The road straight ahead from the intersection is a street through the heart of Dewart.

The duplex is well signed with confirmation/reassurance shields. There are the first signs seen from the north end of the duplex.
