Business I-83 and PA 181 join for a half-mile, same-way, unnecessary
duplex north of North York in York County.

Timothy Reichard 7/24/02
Northern terminus of Business I-83 and northern end of the Business
I-83/PA 181 duplex at Exit 22 of I-83 southbound. The duplex is unique
in that it is the only one in the state that involves an interstate
business route, and both routes of the duplex end at different ends
of the duplex: Business I-83 ends here at I-83 and PA 181, and PA
181 ends at the southern end of the duplex at US 30 and Business I-83.

Timothy Reichard 5/14/03
Southbound on PA 181 at the interchange with I-83. The offramp from
I-83 south enters from the right, and the onramp to I-83 south begins
to the left. Business I-83 begins here along PA 181.

Timothy Reichard 5/14/03
Neither Business I-83 nor PA 181 are signed southbound along the
duplex.

Timothy Reichard 5/14/03
Less than a mile ahead, PA 181 ends at US 30, while Business I-83
continues straight ahead into York. The first acknowledgment of Business
I-83 is the green sign just past this intersection.

Timothy Reichard 5/14/03
Now facing in the other direction, northbound on Business I-83/George
Street. The intersection with the US 30 bypass is ahead.

Timothy Reichard 5/14/03
PA 181 begins at the US 30 intersection and is signed northbound
along the Business I-83/PA 181 duplex here. Instead of signing Business
I-83, a trailblazer TO I-83 is posted in its place.

Timothy Reichard 5/14/03
Business I-83 should end here at the I-83 interchange. PA 181 continues
ahead to Manchester to meet PA 921.
